Profhilo®

During your consultation you may be recommended Profhilo®

What is Profhilo®

Profhilo® is a unique hybrid complex hyaluronic acid treatment, made with the patented NAHYCO® technology. This results in a unique hybrid cooperative complex hyaluronic acid injectable gel, which has a prolonged stimulating activity on the dermal cells including keratinocytes and fibroblasts. When injected into the skin, Profhilo® stimulates the skin cell receptors to improve skin laxity and restore firmness of the skin.

Profhilo® has one of the highest concentrations of hyaluronic acid on the market, Profhilo® not only hydrates the skin but also remodels ageing and sagging tissue. The most common areas of treatment include the face, neck, décolletage, hands and can also be used in the new formulation Profhilo Body® for the arms, knees and abdomen area where it would effectively treat skin laxity. The treatment is suitable for men and women as well as offering skin benefits for patients of all ages.

What does Profhilo® do to my face?

Treatment with Profhilo® improves skin tone, texture, hydration and overall radiance. It will help to increase firmness of your tissues, elasticity and promote a healthier and softer-looking  and feeling skin. There are several published studies that demonstrate the effects of Profhilo® on the cells in your skin to produce more collagen, elastin and extracellular matrix.

How long will Profhilo® last?

Following your treatment programme the improvement in the firmness, elasticity and overall quality of your skin should last up to 6 months, following this you should have further treatment to maintain the effect.

How often do I need Profhilo?

It is recommended that you have at least 2 sessions (one month apart)  up to 3 sessions may sometimes be required to achieve the maximum results. Then  to maintain the results, one treatment session is advised every 6 months.

Are there any side effects of Profhilo®

Common side effects of Profhilo® are similar to other types of fillers and include mild bruising and swelling. Risks are the same as other fillers and can include allergic reaction or infection though these are exceptionally rare. A study has been published in 2020  looking at the overall postmarketing experience after 3 years of use and more than 40,000 patients treated with Profhilo® concluded that as side effects seen were local reactions of hypersensitivity and/or due to inappropriate injection techniques,  in no case was Profhilo® held liable for direct damage.
